I think it's only me and you on here right now :) I forget if I've asked you; you ever use python? I heard about Python for the first time in the summer of 2000, when someone said it's "the next big thing" and not to "waste my time" with PHP, but I haven't really worked with it at all. It's been something I've wanted to learn for that whole time, but the syntax barrier has been the biggest deterrent so far. I did, however, share 30 seconds standing next to Guido in the bathroom at OSCON 2002, so I feel a certain connection to the language. :) Have you used it? Did you have to install or tweak it to get Mailman running? The syntax is strange for me, too. > I did, however, share 30 seconds standing next to Guido in the bathroom at > OSCON 2002, so I feel a certain connection to the language. :) Haha, that's great... > Have you used it? Pretty well put together, and installs in a snap on both FreeBSD (of course :) and Linux. Now let's see if anyone else subscribes :) H From hans at nyphp.com Sun Jul 25 21:41:36 2004 From: hans at nyphp.com (Hans Zaunere) Date: Tue Mar 4 07:27:37 2008 Subject: [python] FW: [nyphp-talk] Python SIG Created at New York PHP Message-ID: <41EE526EC2D3C74286415780D3BA9F870334B3AF@ehost011-1.exch011.intermedia.net> Forward from Talk as an FYI > > In light of some recent discussion about a Python user group in NY, I > > talked with some folks about getting something going for Python > > programmers. > > and...if anyone wants a quickie python set up to play with, XAMPP has a > python addon too: > http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp-windows.html
